About us

The Biblical Mentoring Community (BMC) provides online mentoring, training, resources and personal development for anyone seeking to deepen their relationship with God and enhance their spiritual gifts and abilities. This is accomplished through a combination of online resources, including documents, videos, and podcasts. Interactive sessions via Zoom and other platforms which offer participants opportunities to learn, share, and grow in knowledge, skills, and character.

This works by you looking, listening and watching the resources available on line before a particular session, then have an interactive learning experience with others on the material via zoom link given to attendees

Our core beliefs

BMC is rooted in the belief that God has equipped each of us with unique gifts to serve His Kingdom. Through our platform, we embrace:

Gifts of the Father

Focusing on practical ministries like teaching, serving, and leading with diligence.

(1 Corinthians 12:8-11)

(Ephesians 4:11-16):

Nurturing roles of apostleship, prophecy, pastoring, teaching, and evangelism to build up the church.

Our community provides resources and connections that allow each member to grow in these gifts in alignment with God’s word.

Meet the Team

Coach

Simon Robertson

Simon graduated from Loughborough University in 1974 with a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology, got married to Helen and they moved out to South Africa in November of that year having a job offer from the Chamber of Mines Industrial Hygiene Division. In less than a year he was offered a Personnel Trainee position with Rand Mines. It was at this point his life radically changed as he had a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. Simon stayed with Rand Mines for 8 ½ years before being called into the Ministry with the AOG having been sent out from his local Church to a semi-arid desert town called Oudtshoorn in the mid south cape district.

Returning to the UK in 1988, Simon spent the next 10 years working in Christian ministry - first with CWR, where he developed courses, coordinated prayer, and qualified as a Christian Counsellor. He then later joined Ellel Ministries, involved in leadership, course development, prayer counselling, and teaching. Simon re-entered the secular marketplace working with companies like Fujitsu Services and Microsoft.

In December 2009 he started and ran his own company for 8 1/2 years as a project consultant and a global trainer/coach in Project Management and Strategic Management. After this he was involved with several Universities and as an Agile Coach/Trainer with Jaguar Landrover and finally as a trainer with the NHS. Now no longer in full time employment, he mentors strategic leaders, nurturing spiritual growth, Kingdom principles and the prophetic ministry in the Business and Church arenas.

Coach

Mervyn Suffield

Dr. Mervyn Suffield became a Christian in 1969 while studying electrical engineering. After a clear calling from God, he miraculously received an opportunity to study medicine at Newcastle Medical School.

Following qualification, he established a Christian medical practice which offered prayer, Chrsitian counselling and healings as well as conventional medicine. He co-founded a national organization to help healthcare professionals integrate faith into their work and played a key role in founding the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC), now a leading UK accrediting body.

Dr. Suffield also developed Christian nursing homes now part of Methodist Homes and initiatives supporting people with learning disabilities,. Additionally, he helped establish GlobalMRI.com, which validates healing miracles through medical evidence.

Today, Dr. Suffield and his wife focus on prayer, healing, and prophetic ministries through StreamsofHope.org.uk. He now mentors others in developing spiritual gifts and improving prophetic standards through the BMC. His journey is one of radical trust, obedience, and God’s faithful provision.

BMC members are encouraged to pursue biblical teaching, personal discipleship, and fellowship in order to experience God’s love more fully.

Our vision is to create a dynamic environment for Christians to explore and develop their God-given gifts. By combining biblical teachings with modern insights, we help members become spiritually mature and empowered to serve effectively in their faith journey.

Through support, encouragement, and a strong biblical foundation, we seek to equip believers for lifelong service to the Kingdom.

Statement of Faith

BMC adheres to a statement of faith consistent with mainstream Christian beliefs, emphasizing the authority of Scripture and the central role of Jesus Christ. We affirm:

The divine inspiration and authority of the Bible.
The Trinity, representing God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The deity of Jesus Christ, His life, death, resurrection, and return.
The role of the Holy Spirit in empowering, teaching and guiding believers into truth and revealing God’s heart.
That God the Father wants an intimate relationship and a two-way conversation with His people.
